Mermaid/Under The Sea Party Planning

I'm planning my next party big party.  The Princess requested a mermaid theme... the only requirement that there be seashells. And cupcakes, of course! Easy enough. What fun it's been to do day-dreamy seashell crafts in the middle of winter in anticipation of Spring! Here are a few details:
Pretty pastel seashells. Adorned with Martha Stewart's paints in Sea Glass, Wintermint, and Antique Silk. Some of them alone and some all mixed together. Then a final coat of glitter to the whole lot for extra sheen and sparkle. The lil miss LOVES her some sparkle!
Seashell crafts for the kids to do. The ones at the top will be hung on a string or net as "examples". Then I will pre-paint a few more and set out glitter glue and gems for decorating. This was a big hit at our last party!
I reinvented a barely-worn Jasmine crown with some seashells and a hot glue gun. Fun & easy!
Made a pin from an old silk flower we had from yet another costume. Not done with it yet. May add some beads or pearls to it.

Much more to do, but well ahead of the game. Stay tuned for more details soon!

The Fairy Princess Party

For my daughter's 4th birthday...A magical fairy princess tea party!
Each girl was given a fairy costume upon entering. Wings, tutu skirt, and halo. Pink, of course!  Fairy picks by Meri Meri. I found them on Amazon and hand "painted" each fairy head with a black sharpie to create raven haired fairies.
Fairy Princess place cards were set at the table for each guest. Place cards & buffet cards by Chickabug.
Almost all the food was pink or had pink in it somewhere: Tea sandwiches shaped as flowers and butterflies had pink sprinkles on them.  I made many sweet treats for this one, too. Pink popcorn, strawberry "fairy" cupcakes,  pink vanilla and pink raspberry marshmallows, butterfly sugar cookies with pink icing and a pink and white toad stool cake.
A dozen sweet fairies sat around a table set with pink plates and real porcelain tea cups found at Distinctive Decor. I hand made flower napkin rings with my daughter. We painted them various shades of pink then glittered them. I also made tulle balls (both for hanging and small ones for the table), butterfly confetti for the table, and butterfly garland. Pink "fairy dust" was sprinkled lightly on the table and each fairy princess received her own fairy dust bottle to take home with her. Each tea cup was filled with Dawson's pink tea for kids. Every girl tried the fruit tea and most really liked it. Of course, we had pink lemonaide and water on hand, too. Fab water bottles are from Chickabug's awesome DIY print outs. Love 'em!!!
Special party moments. We left out all the princess and fairy type toys to encourage play and imagination. It did not go unnoticed by this girlie group! Decorated a big stand-up mirror with flowers and put it in there for them to view themselves. The craft table was set up with wooden star wands (pre-painted in pastels the week b4) for them to decorate, glitter, and glue gems to. This was a big hit! I covered the table with a pink plastic table cloth so clean up was super easy.
Pinata time! Gave our horse pinata some wings, a pink saddle, and glitter and he now fit in with the theme. Of course, these dainty girls barely dented the thing. Always good to have a pair of scissors on hand to make some easy to break splits!
Yummy edible pinkness!
Face painting was a hit as well as dancing....and eating all those delectable treats!
The birthday cake and wish! A very special day for a very special girl.

The Farm Party

Cowgirl Princess. Custom tutu by Trinity Tutus on Etsy. Custom birthday shirt also found on Etsy.

Made porch into a ball pit & play area. This was a lot of fun AND made for a GREAT photo op!

Took many pics of the birthday girl as well as each guest on the hay stacks.

Each little cowgirl or cowboy got their picture taken on the haystack.

Later, we printed these and included them in the thank you cards for the parents/kids to enjoy.

Lots of fun and many details. Red barn doors made from cardboard strips and a fridge box. Cow table cloths adorned the play tables and to provide more seating we made a "bench" of straw bales. The kids loved it!  Add balloons galore and you have a fun lil eating spot!

Yard even got a farmy make-over.

Cow cupcake-cake with chics and pigs. Farm games. Feed box filled with chopped apples and carrots to feed the animals. Party favor box to take home had farm bubbles, balls, stuffed cow or pig, & stickers.

Pony rides and petting zoo was HUGE hit.

Wagon rides were also fun. I got 2 red wagons on craigslist for next to nothing. Put some hay in there and we all took turns giving the kids rides. We also used a red wheelbarrow (not pictured) as an ice bucket - filled to the brim with water and juice boxes.

A fun time was had by all!

I make a book after each party. Will put a link here soon so you can see a copy of my work.
Custom books are available for purchase after any party, as well as photography services.
